Why your business has refused to grow!

The reason why some business never grows is not far fetched....
After reading some books by Brian Tracy and Donald Trump, will tell you why your business is static!

I attribute it to lack of discipline! Discipline according to Tracy means doing what you ought to do at the right time whether you feel like it or not.
It is only discipline that will enable you to wake up very early in morning and move to your shop to sell to early customers.

Discipline only tells you the need to treat each customer special in order to retain the customer so as to increase profit.
Only discipline tells you how much time you need to put in your work to be promoted.
Have you ever wondered why there are wholesalers and retailers..?, why some people are importers while others are distributors...discipline makes the difference..! Discipline could mean a lot of things but its only discipline that you need to propel your business to your desired location.
When you start keeping record of your daily sales.
When you start treating custom or right.
When you use your time wisely.
When you start buying quality goods no matter the cost.
When you improve your level of arrangement as a businessman or a shop keeper.
When you differentiate between discount and gift.
When you improve your level of management.
Then your business will grow.

You can start saving now!

 Saving to invest!
How to save.. By Uwalaka Onyinyechi.

To me saving does not mean going to bank to keep the money you kept aside!
It does not also mean keeping money in a safe place for future purpose....a friend of mine said it's keeping money for future purpose...
About what I think now? I think there is more to that especially when you are saving to invest!
Saving means refusing to touch a part of or all of your investment with the sole reason of using it for a particular investment or purpose in the nearest future.
How to save!
1. Start a small scale business with the money anything that will yield interest... People that save to invest don't keep money at a place.
2.engage in profitable activities everyday
3.ensure you don't touch your capital not savings now, you tend to keep your money safe when you see it as a capital not saving!.

A Nigerian student builds a car in Lagos!

Egbogah, inspecting a car built by students of the

Society for Petroleum Engineers, in Lagos.
By Clara Nwachukwu
Chrome Group, a fast growing indigenous
conglomerate has reiterated the need for more
jobs to be given Nigerian companies to boost
capacity development and technology transfer in
the nation’s petroleum industry. The Group said
this is the only way to boost Federal
Government’s objective in Nigerian Content
development, even as its subsidiary, Kaztec
Engineering Limited, recently won an $84.5million
rehabilitation contract for Shell’s Trans Niger
Pipeline, TNP, as part of the pipeline integrity
fortification.
Speaking to journalists at the weekend, the
Executive Chairman, Chrome Group, Sir Emeka
Offor, argued that content development cannot be
achieved by professional certification alone, but
by job execution and hands on experience.
According to him, “If you have the professional
qualification and no jobs, how are you going to
gain the experience and transfer technology? But
where we (Chrome Group) are now, we have the
opportunity and the facility to boost content
development and technology transfer.
Capital flight
He noted that most of the fabrication jobs in the
industry are still ceded offshore to fabrication
yards in China, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and
a host of others leading to capital flight, even
while Nigerians have continued to demonstrate
the capacity to do these jobs.
He said: “Most of the jobs are done by heavy
fabrication countries like China, Malaysia, South
Korea, Japan, and if that continues to happen,
there will continue to be foreign exchange flight
every day, and which will impact negatively on
the value of our Naira.”
He however, chided indigenous companies to
prove their capacity, saying that getting jobs from
the international oil companies, IOCs, is not about
playing politics. He said: “To get an IOC job, they
must audit your company and certify that you
have both the manpower and the facility to
compete. You have to drag the bull by the horns
to be able to compete with other IOCs like
Saipem and the rest.
And if we are not able to deliver it is also a
problem because we won’t get more jobs; but we
are getting the jobs because we deliver as
promised. The IOCs give you a target, and you
must deliver and if you’re not able to, then you’re
out. So getting jobs are tied to performance, not
politics, and they don’t accept excuses because
the jobs are tied to their production and output.”
Kaztec capacity
Accordingly, he said Kaztec, an indigenous
engineering, procurement, installation and
construction, EPIC company, has done a number
of works for Addax in its fabrication yard at the
Snake Island, reputed as the biggest in the
country. He added that Shell and other IOCs have
also come on board based on the company’s
track record to deliver on schedule.
Expatiating on the Shell pipeline job, Kaztec
Project Director, Mr. Tochukwu Odukwe, said, “The
Trans Niger Pipeline is a 12.5km project, worth
about $84.5m of 30 inch pipeline located in
Ogoni, Rivers State. The project is in phases; but
so far, we have done the engineering, we have
mobilised to site and about to proceed to
procurement and construction.”

Search engine giant Google, recently named
Sundar Pichai as its Chief Executive Officer, thus
reorganizing under a new moniker, Alphabet. In
this interview with Google’s Communication and
Public Affairs Manager for Anglophone West
Africa, Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, he explained that
Google has not changed its name, but rather, has
only restructured to become a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Alphabet, adding that the
restructuring will enable the company to continue
to focus on creating opportunities for Nigerians
and Africa leverage on the worldwide web.
Excerpts:
Google has just been renamed Alphabet. What
necessitated this development?
The restructuring became imperative, given the
fact that Google is a company that makes big
bets. You will recall that we first started with
Search but then soon expanded to YouTube,
Android, self-driving cars, Calico, among others.
We have had a lot of success, but want to ensure
we’re enabling the fastest, most focused
innovation possible, through this recent
restructuring.
As Google continues to grow, we want to
empower the great leaders and employees we’ve
attracted to run their businesses in ways that
makes most sense to them.
From Google Inc to incubators and newer
projects, we think greater autonomy will
turbocharge everyone’s innovation, focus, and
velocity.
This restructuring will also free up time for
Google’s co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin
to be more ambitious, manage at scale, and
operate their businesses with greater
accountability.
Why did Google restructure now after 16 years of
being in operation?
We restructured now, because now have many
businesses that are quite independent, and may
have more in the future. So, we’re establishing
Alphabet to set us up for the future.
Alphabet will include Google Inc, independent
companies, incubation efforts, and our investment
arms-including Calico, Nest, Sidewalk Labs,
Ventures, Capital, X, Access & Energy
We want each of our Alphabet companies to
focus on their strengths and believe this new
structure provides much greater flexibility, which
we believe will lead to greater innovation, focus,
and speed.
Kola-Ogunlade
What happens to Google following this renaming?
Google Inc will be run by Sundar Pichai. He and
Larry Page have worked together closely over the
past decade, and in particular over the past year,
as Sundar took over Google products. Sundar is
extremely focused on driving the next wave of
innovation in Google’s businesses–Google
Photos, Cardboard, Google Now, and the
continued success of Chrome and Android are
great examples of the effects of his leadership.
How do you think this change in name will affect
Google’s penetration particularly in Nigeria and
Anglophone West-Africa, where you coordinate?
The Google name has not changed. It will only
become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet.
We will continue to focus on creating
opportunities for Nigerians and Africa leverage
the web for good. This new structure will allow us
to keep tremendous focus on the extraordinary
opportunities we have inside of Google to the
benefit of the region.
Who is Sundar Pichai, Google’s new CEO?
As Google’s chief executive officer, Sundar Pichai
is responsible for leading the overall product
development and innovation efforts, as well as
managing the company’s day-to-day-operations.
Sundar joined Google in 2004 and helped lead the
development of Google Toolbar and Google
Chrome, key consumer products which are now
used by hundreds of millions of people. In 2014
he took over product, engineering, and research
efforts for all of Google’s products and platforms.
This includes Search, Maps, Communications,
Google Play, Commerce, and Ads, as well as our
suite of cloud-based solutions for consumers,
businesses and education known as Google Apps
and Cloud Platform. He’s also responsible for two
of the most important platforms in computing
today—Android and Chrome. After years of
working closely with Google’s co-founders, Larry
Page and Sergey Brin, Sundar became Google’s
CEO in August 2015.
Before joining Google, Sundar held positions at
Applied Materials and McKinsey & Company.
Sundar received a bachelor’s degree from the
Indian Institute of Technology and was awarded
an Institute Silver Medal. He holds a master’s
degree from Stanford University and an MBA from
the Wharton School, where he was named a
Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar.
